What is Health and Safety?
It’s all about sensibly managing risks to protect people who work for you, with you and your business. A positive Health and Safety environment involves you, your managers, workers, suppliers, contractors and customers.
Why is this so important? Well there are three key aspects
Legal Responsibility
It is an employer’s duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. Employers must do whatever is reasonably practicable to achieve this.
Moral Responsibility
Both the employer and employee have a common law duty of care to each other and to other employees. This includes exercising reasonable care in order to protect others from the risks of foreseeable injury, death at work or health problems.
